Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund registers victory in their first match after Lockdown.

Football returned after 2 months of lockdown due to the Corona virus pandemic on May 16. The matches were held on the empty stadium without the presence of fans. The league was stopped after the completion of 25 league matches.

On the next day on May 17, FC Bayern faced Union Berlin in Union Berlin’s home ground and registered a 2-0 away win grabbing important 3 points. With this, Bayern Munich registered 18 wins, 4 ties and 4 loses from 26 games making 58 points. Bayern Munich are 4 points ahead of second placed Borussia Dortmund.

On the other side, Borussia Dortmund easily smashed Schalke with 4-0 victory on their home stadium “Signal Iduna Park”, Erling Halland showing his magical performance. Erling Haaland scored a goal with an assist. Raphael Guerreiro scored in the 45th and 63rd minute. Just after a dominating first half Belgian star Thorgan Hazard scored third goal for Borussia Dortmund.


Bayern Munich’s main man Robert Lewandowski’s penalty led Bayern Munich in the first half. Bayern Munich dominating the game couldn’t score more than couple of goals. In the 81st minute French right back Benzamin Pavard scored the second and decisive goal for FC Bayern Munchen.

Along with Bayern and Dortmund
Wolfsburg beat Augsburg, Hertha Berlin beat Hoffenheim and Borussia M’gladbach beat Eintracht Frankfurt. Dusseldorf tied with Paderborn, RB Leipzig tied with Freiburg and FC Koln tied with Mainz. After the 26th weekend of Bundesliga Bayern Munchen are at the top of the table with 58 points and Paderborn are at the bottom with 17 points only having 4 wins.
