Kiran Chemjong is a goalkeeper who plays for Nepal national team. He is also named as Kiran Kumar Limbu. His senior career started from Machhindra Football club. He debuted for Machhindra Club in 2008. He played for Machhindra club for an year. Then, Kiran joined Three Star club in 2009. Chemjong played there till 2016. Currently, he won AFC best player of the week. This is Kiran’s biggest individual honor in football. He received this award while he was playing for Punjab Football Club in I-League. Furthermore, Nepalese goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong has played for eight clubs inside and outside Nepal. Obviously, he is one of the finest goalkeeper of Nepal and has proved several times in the pitch.

Currently, Kiran Chemjong represented Nepal in AFC and world cup qualifiers. Unfortunately, Nepal could not make it in the world cup. But, Chemjong once again dropped the masterpiece. In the friendly match against Iraq, Nepal conceded six goals. Moreover, in the Asian and world cup qualifiers he kept clean sheet against Chinese Taipei. And, in the remaining two fixtures, Nepal conceded four goals against Jordan. Further, Nepal conceded three against Australia. He is a very hardworking and passionate goalkeeper. Chemjong rarely does error which leads to goal. Likewise, his desperation and dedication he is firm in the goal line. He is the captain and one of the senior players of Nepalese football team. Moreover, he has led Nepal to couple of international finals. Kiran Chemjong has won prestigious Bangabandhu gold cup in Bangladesh.
Titles And Achievements
He has led Nepal to AFC solidarity cup in 2016. Later, in 2021 he was the captain when Nepal won Tri Nations Cup held in Nepal. Moreover, Kiran Chemjong is also one time Indian champion with Minerva Punjab FC. He has also won Bangabandhu gold cup in 2016.
Although, he hasn’t won big titles and never played Asian Cup, he is one of the best goalkeepers in South Asia. Currently, team Nepal is in transition and building phase under the new manager Abdullah Almutairi. After all, the team looks progressing since Almutairi’s takeover. Moreover, captain is also positive with the coach. Initially, Almutairi became the headline when he dropped one of the players from the squad. In the interview he said that he wants full discipline and no attitude. Furthermore, Almutairi added that he will allow him in the team only if he lessens his attitude.
