Football clubs have started banning Russian sponsors amid of ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Due to the war Russia declared on Ukraine, the footballing world is by cutting Russian investors. Recently, different clubs have terminated sponsorship and agreement with Russian companies. Manchester United ended its sponsorship deal with Russian Airlines, Aerolift. Likewise, German side Schalke also ended their lucrative partnerships with Russian company Gazprom. Meanwhile, sportswear manufacturer Adidas has suspended its sponsorship agreement with the Russian Football Union.

National Teams Refusing To Play Against Russia
Russia has the important fixture in March. It has the UEFA second round world cup qualification playoffs in March. Russia has a semifinal playoff against Poland. But, Poland refused to play against the Russian side stating that they wouldn’t pretend as like nothing is happening. Also ,Sweden and Czech Republic has also said that they won’t play against Russia if either of them faces Russia in final.
FIFA And UEFA Suspended National Team And Clubs
UEFA have suspended all the Russian clubs from the European tournament. The team to face the suspension id Spartak Moscow from Europa League. German club RB Leipzig had got walkover as Moscow is disqualified from the round of 16. Meanwhile, the managers and the sponsors are also taking the hands off the Russian club. Recently, the former Ukrainian international Yaroslav Rakitskiy leaved the Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow’s head coach Markus Gisdol has also stepped down from his position.
So, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused serious effects in Russian football clubs and Russian national team. Its a big loss for the Russian clubs. They will be bearing great loss financially. Furthermore, FIFA may charge more sanction on Russia if the condition worsen more.
